Little Things Count

I mailed a gift and a card to my great grandson.  I'm not rich, but I am debt free.  I guess that makes others who are in debt view me as rich.  I am generous if the party is thankful, but have cut back on giving to those who are ungrateful and expect more and give me not even a greeting card.

I don't feel guilty.  I don't expect much from others, but it is cruel to ignore me.

On the plus side I have spent time with friends doing enjoyable activities. I have discovered a new distant cousin.  We have same sixth great grandfather.  I'm enjoying my genealogy finds.

No More Excuses

On this hot day I complain, but then feel awkward when I realize that my ancestors did not have air conditioners or even an electric fan.  Life has gotten so much easier over the centuries.  Even the poorest person in America has it much better than even the kings of old slept in drafty castles and had no plumbing.  Even my grandparents lived without plumbing or central heat.  I guess I better toughen up.  No more excuses to put off my projects.  I'll start tomorrow.  I can also count the blog I just started today.
